Empire had the honor of working with Home of the Good Shepherd in Saratoga, NY to design and build a retro diner with music interactive. They wanted a place where memory care residents could gather to enjoy a meal and some recreation in a space familiar from their younger years.

The “Rockin’ Diner” features a colorful palette, metal wainscoting, a checkered tile border, table seating with blue booths and red chairs with cream piping, and a music area. Old Coke signs, car signs and photos of iconic musicians and records decorate the walls.

Set against a wall mural, the music area features a custom jukebox with color changing lights, a microphone and mirror for karaoke. Musical instruments, including a tambourine, glockenspiel, bongo drums, chimes and a mandolin are mounted to the walls to join in the music or create their own.

The exterior of the diner is decorated in colorful trim moldings and includes a window graphic, karaoke poster and dimensional sign.
