Empire Exhibits worked with the design team from RPI to develop a custom reception desk, kiosks, workstations and lighting systems to create the “Ocean of Knowledge” at the Folsom Library. Built with cherry hardwoods, granite counter tops and custom led lighting, this casework is a living piece of art.

Included in this custom environment is a privacy panel display of “sails” made from thermoformed 3-form panels printed with a reversed world map made from multilingual text. The sails are mounted in a bed of river stones with colored LED light fixtures. Connected to a central controller, these fixtures change color throughout the day in sync with the outside mean temperature. This casework was designed, produced and installed by Empire Exhibits.
